Ew. Swimsuit Season already?

There are few things I hate more in this world than swimsuit shopping.  Waiting for a video to buffer is irritating, seeing your favorite limited edition Starbucks drink gone from the menu is disappointing, and knowing that Coach will never allow you to wear your brand new emerald green nail polish to work is gut wrenching, but nothing gives you that feeling like swimsuit season.

As I lay in bed thinking about that Cinnabon cinnamon roll I ate earlier, with the calorie count to satisfy a small village, swim suit season guilt overwhelms me.  If you have never experienced that feeling or if you have never bought a one piece, swim skirt, or swim shorts (forget the chubby 5 year old stage, I’m talking in the last 10 years) this blog post is not for you.  Buh-bye.

Who cares about bikinis in March? Welp, I booked tickets for my vacation to Florida April first through the fifth and I do.  I was planning on biking down the beach with my friend Ashley and spending hours upon hours tanning in the sun instead of that tin can of UV rays I recently  bought a membership to.  I glanced out the window at the remains of gross New York snow banks and started to think about what I would wear.  I should probably plan my outfits for my trip to Manhattan this weekend first, but Cinnabon Cinnamon Buns don’t show quite as much through dresses.

I remember all the Mac and Cheese and Mozzerella Sticks I ate first semester and all of the leggings I’ve worn since.  I recall all the bitches on Twitter back in January being all

“Oh my God! Just ordered 3 new bikinis from Victoria’s Secret! #summer2013 hollaaaaa”

And I unfollowed every last one of you.

I did lose 12 pounds, but that was after the freshman weight gain made an appearance.  In other words, I am no better off than I was last summer.  Actually, that’s a lie.  I am one Cinnabon Cinnamon Bun greater than I was before.

But you try and resist Cream Cheese Frosting after a 9 hour work day.  I didn’t think so.

So, according to society I should be writing a post committing myself to losing weight by April first and yada yada, but I don’t think that’s going to happen.  I think it is much more likely that I will buy another Coach bag (I’m on my second in 2 months, darlings..).

*This is the latest, her name is Isabelle.

I’m just going to try not to give Isabelle too many friends between now and April and instead find some figure flattering swim suits PRONTO.

*but doesn’t this bag look like such a better investment than waterproof spandex?

I almost bought her with Isabelle, but sold her.  She’s in a better (more wealthy) place now.

Now that I’ve pulled myself off the Coach website I’m on Modcloth.  I’m pretty sure it will be my go to site for this dreaded season.  The only danger is, I can’t try on the suit and reject it once I get it and everything looks good if there’s a size 2 model wearing it on the site.

So my fellow Pear shapers, I hope this helps you out.  If not, steer me in the right direction? I’m begging you!

So far… this is the list:

The safe option. The issue is, there is a fine line between vintage and frumpy:

The “If I’m feeling adventurous” option:

The “wild taylor swift-esque” option:

The “color of my bedroom walls” option:

I haven’t bought any and will probably put it off as long as humanly possible.. so if you can help me and submit a comment, that’d be fab.  Remember, I blog at ridiculous hours of the night, so if any of these are horrendous, we will just blame that.

Anyways, what do you think my Cinna-buns should dawn on the beach in April?

Darlings!! I got the job at Coach, permanently.  It’s so exciting. I like knowing I will have somewhat glamorous dependable income.  Life is crazy and chaotic, but I expect nothing less.  I am a level 2 part timer, which means I work 15-22 hours per week.  I am yet to take the plunge and take advantage of my lovely employee discount, I think I deserve bonus points for that.  Not to say I’m not drooling over shimmery leather bags and signature infinity scarves.  I am saving my pennies for trips to Florida and New York CIty though. I need a change of scenery, I’m just taking online classes mainly after all. I have a pink shoe fund piggy bank, I should tape over that and put saving up for life… And Tory Burch flats. #sorrynotsorry

I know I’m the biggest traitor ever, but I want a Michael Kors Hamilton Bag too..  Curse my expensive taste! Hourly wage at Coach doesn’t support my desires.  One day.. when I’m a famous magazine writer you’ll see my black pumps with red soles walking away from those items I want now.  They’ll be so 2013.

My bag from Paris finally came, the maude and tilda one? I like it alot.. but I need to take back my bragging review.  The quality is pretty lame, and I could have had the clever quote screen printed in the USA for like 20 dollars.  I wish I hadn’t paid so much, but I am still happy I have it.  My mom dragged me in a thrift store with her, and wearing a bag that says “Not comfortable prancing around with my Chanel bag” was a hoot.

It wasn’t one of those cute trendy second hand boutiques either.

I’m indulging in wayyyyy too much TV time lately.  The Hills and The Carrie Diaries are my FAV pass times.  I feel fashion inspired with nowhere to wear it.  I am newly obsessed with Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port.  I missed that oh so 2007 phase of the show because my parents banished MTV from my house.  I know the show is fake, please don’t ruin anything more of it for me!  Carrie on the other hand is definitely going to inspire my need to watch Sex and the City after this.  I adore living through these TV shows.  I was talking to one of my long distance best friends about fickle friends and I referred to Lauren Conrad as my very picky best friend. Kinda wish I was kidding.

The girls on these shows TOTALLY drive my desire to look supurb by spring break.  They’re ridiculously fit.  I have lost 12 pounds since I left Canisius though so they are a positive influence! Aerobics KILLS my ass, but its going to be one perky rear end when I’m done with it.  Bowling starts at the end of February, and although it’s not exherting that much energy it has more impact that I do lounging on my lovely bedding in my BEA-UTIFUL re-fabbed room!

Well technically it’s jenna’s and mine.  Just picture marilyn and audrey up there. MMMMM. Vintage and modern heaven. I cannot wait to get a desk and vanity in there.  It’s going to be so victorian chic.  Those style icons with gorgeous bone structure with also influence the lifestyle change occurring now.

I NEED TO INVEST IN A PEDOMETER TO WEAR AROUND COACH. I get freaking shin splints and swear I walk miles over an 8 hour shift in that tiny store.  I need comfier shoes.. I adore my British Tan riding boots, don’t get me wrong… I just think leather flats would be more appropriate.

I ditched the button down already. Starched and pressed collars are too much work.

Dear Lord, I sound like such a lazy prep.. I’m going on Forever 21 right now to buy fake pearls. #judgeme

Be YOUnique

As I prepare for the new chunk of my college journey, as well as continuing to feel out how 2013 is going to treat me, I plan on making some new wardrobe contributions.  As much as I enjoy h&m and forever 21 on a dirt cheap budget, I need to brand out.  My clothing is a key form of my expression, I am getting away from the high school trend of simply wearing a brand because it is cool.  Trends are phenomenal, don’t get me wrong, and I still drool over designer, but just following trends does not take style. I am soaking up my last days of lazy clothing and messy buns, so I can make a stylish statement in the upcoming weeks.  I plan on investing in a camera to help the blog flourish as well, so you should be able to witness first hand how gorg these outfits will be.  With all of the free time I’ve had on my hands  (it’s been driving me INSANE) as of late I have stumbled upon a few websites I may consider introducing to my collection of apparel this new year:

1) http://www.coi-nyc.com I have  mixed review on this site and what they’re selling. Do not hesitate to click the link and see what I mean.  I think the idea of using conflict of interest as a brand and using designer brands to play on words is hilarious, and unique.  I believe the creators have not dedicated near enough time to their products though, because they only have 3 tops and expect to be successful? That’s a reach. It’s a site based on brands such as Givenchy better known on there as Giraunchy and Balenciaga called “Ballinciaga: Harlem”. I appreciate the attempt, and I am happy that NYLON  mag included a blurb about this site in their magazine, but maybe they would have had more than a paragraph written about them if there was more to say.  For 60 dollars? A statement, but not one worth making quite yet.  I’m sure you could go on skreened and get something similar.  Soon enough someone will steal the idea and make it for less, not that I’m promoting that..

2) http://www.maudeandtilda.com has won over my heart.  Although the home page may look old school, this brand based overseas is anything but!  Check out the bags next to the 3 little old ladies.. I don’t know about you, but my grandmas isn’t making the statement “I’m still saving for my Birkin” or “Will Fuck For Chanel” any time soon.  I ordered a bag last night that wasn’t quite as bold is language, but still got the point across.  Complete with a pink bow and 20% off coupon code? Who could complain.  My only disappointment in the brand is that it could take anywhere from 4-30 days for me to sport the statement tote since it is out of paris.  Still, no regrets.  This rebel bag is the perfect size to carry books for anti-backpack people like myself.  Thank you random girl on instagram that took a picture of someone with one in the airport.  I then took it upon myself to google of course :*

3)www.thehunt.com is the prime location for soooo many other items and sites like this.  Over thanksgiving break I went on stumble upon for the first time and was connected to the hunt.  It is incredible how many things I have drooled over on pinterest and found more cheaply through there.  Can’t find it on google? Make an account, you’re almost guaranteed to find it on the hunt.  I found a pair of glitter combat boots (yea, I can’t put off the combat boot trend any longer.. I’m giving in)on a fellow blogger’s page, but they were for her 4 year old daughter!  I may have the same clothing interest as that 4 year old, but my feet will not feet and the blogger didn’t share the brand. http://WWW.THEHUNT.COM HERE I COME!!!!!

Check out these sites and share some of your favorites!  Also, anyone have advice on a camera for a fashion blogger? I don’t want to spend more money than necessary, because that’s less clothes and shoes. #sorrynotsorry
