Tis the season of cut offs and star spangled crop tops! I love the fourth of July, I have a theory that my ~Labor Day birthday is to blame.
Don’t mock me for wearing a red, white and blue metallic pinwheel headband or a red seersucker sleeveless blouse… outfits like this are what really make America great again ;).
My grandparents are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this weekend -congratulations Nana and Papa! Last year I celebrated my college graduation around the same holiday. It’s just such a fun spirited occasion.. there’s even glitter in the sky!
For the past few years my family and I set up camp on Center St. in Lewiston and watch the fireworks shot off in Academy Park as well as from our Canadian friends to the north, at Niagara-on-the-Lake. After all it’s their weekend too -Canada Day was just on friday. Before living in Western New York I was never aware of their holidays, but working at a touristy outlet mall that is only a stone’s throw away from another country makes it a necessary evil!
Speaking of outlet malls.. there will definitely be some good deals this weekend I’m sure. I lucked out memorial day weekend at GAP and stocked up on $10 4 inch inseam “girlfriend” shorts.. I’m forcing myself to stay away from the same sale this time around.
I bought a beige floral print dress at Dressbarn at a steal earlier this week, for my friend Charlene’s wedding on the 10th. I always check RetailMeNot for additional coupons when shopping and I lucked out this time around, being able to combine the 40% off clearance with an additional 15% off.. making my classic a-line dress less than $30! This style is very similar to what I will be sporting! Stay tuned for my whole outfit next weekend on instagram. I love a good fit and flare/a-line dress.
I’ve also become obsessed with maxi skirts and dresses this season. It’s perfect timing because with the 70’s boho look being all the rage, they’re easy to find! I just love how easy they are to dress up or down and… did I shave my legs? You’ll never know.
Which all-American looks will you be sporting to this year’s BBQ?
