Christmas present and curse

Yesterday marked two weeks since I came home from England. It’s surreal that I ever even left. My life changed so much over the course of three months and if I think about it too much I’ll start crying.

Initially and -still maybe (I’ve progressed to the denial stage) I was dealing with reverse culture shock. I made 4 trips to the mall within the first week and left with nothing. I ate a Wegmans sub for dinner the first night, but it didn’t taste as good as I had built it up to be. I find myself constantly justifying prices of items by converting them to pounds.

Although it has been wonderful reuniting with friends and family in America, I’d be lying if I said it took longer than 48 hours for me to begin dreaming of my next “getaway”. Being home has been a Christmas present and curse. I have a serious case of wanderlust.

Since the reality has set in that my bank account simply can’t suffer that drastically again for a very long time, I’m just trying to cope. Focus on the positives such as driving a car (not the fact that my parents live 40 minutes from civilization/friends -__-), freelancing for the newspaper I was previously interning at and sleeping in a queen sized bed.

Also, Santa blessed me with some super cute new clothes and accessories from Tommy Hilfiger, Kohls’ Lauren Conrad line and Kate Spade.

My Nana gave me this gold bow bracelet, ring and earring set from Kate Spade. I love it!

If you have a little bit of Christmas money to spend, check out LOFT’s 50% off everything sale! Here are some of my favorites:

And if you still haven’t found anything, I highly recommend JCrew Factory’s 30% off new arrivals and an additional 30% off of clearance sale. If nothing else, you can always use another adorable skirt and kitten heels.
